Social Media Backlash Many shoppers and sellers have taken to social media saying Vinted listings now show a different size category compared to what was initially listed due to the recalibration. The platform stated the updated approach better aligns with comparable marketplaces. They have suggested members to review their products and update the measurements by hand when needed, which has left users frustrated. Measurement Approach Changes Before the change, the sizing featured numerical and alphabetical indicators, for instance S/8 or M/10. The updated approach includes a letter and a range for example S/UK 8-10. With some products, the size labels have been reassigned - for example a size L used to be a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18. User Accounts Frankie Bridger, who creates plus-size fashion videos, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. Another user, based in Glasgow, said garments she listed with size 14 tags were appearing on the platform as larger sizing 20-22. "If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they will likely be quite upset," she said. Necessary Adjustments Charlotte Lunn, from Derby, stated she felt frustrated by the change as she had to manually change the sizing for "all her products". "Personally, this is quite irritating, as I'm chronically ill and selling on Vinted has been paramount after experiencing income reduction," she explained. Service Background The platform boasts over 100 million members, with 18 million British users. It has emerged as a preferred choice versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop. This is not the initial instance where an unanticipated change to the app has proved unpopular: previously, the platform withdrew an update regarding delivery choices after backlash from users.
