Devoted supporters of the pop star are calling for that a person who breached a barrier and grabbed the celebrity during the recent Wicked: For Good premiere be detained or expelled from Singapore.

A viral video reveals the Australian man pushing past photographers and charging at Grande while the performers walked down a promenade accompanied by supporters.

Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo promptly wrested the stunned performer away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being led away of the premiere by event staff.

Mr Wen stated on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "released after being taken in", though official papers showed that he was set to be present on Friday morning. It is unknown if he was faced legal action.

History of Event Invasions

This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Controversial Figure", has invaded a performance. His Instagram account includes clips of him disrupting other celebrity events, including rushing the platform at the pop singer's Sydney show in earlier this year and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers performance in the same location last December.

"Measures must be taken applied against him as this is clearly a criminal offence," wrote an Instagram follower, in a reply to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his behavior.

"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" another Instagram user wrote.

Followers Voice Worry Over Grande's Safety

Numerous supporters blamed Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had revealed dealing with trauma-related anxiety after a devastating incident at the finale of her May 2017 concert in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and wounding numerous individuals.

"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" said another response on Instagram.

Some supporters also questioned event staff at the Thursday event for not being sufficiently alert; while some requested social media platforms to remove Mr Wen's content.

Aftermath and Event Details

In clips circulating online, Grande looked shocked when she was approached by the intruder. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen consoling her while Mr Wen was escorted away by staff.

Grande has not issued a statement on the incident, and the premiere activities carried on uninterrupted.

Numerous of supporters had congregated in a crowd of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good international launch in a Singapore mall, including some who had stood in line for as long as eight hours before it started.

The movie, to be released on 21 November, is the sequel of a two-film interpretation of the well-known Broadway and West End production Wicked, which revolves around the unlikely friendship between two contrasting characters.

The show itself is a derivative of the 1900 story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who acts as the character Glinda Glinda, was decked out in a rosé sparkling outfit at the premiere while Erivo, who acts as the villainous character, wore a black tube gown embroidered with roses.

They were joined by fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.

The previous installment, Wicked, was the top-earning movie of 2024 in the UK, and earned a dozen Oscar nominations, winning two for outstanding attire and set decoration.
