Critical Role Campaign 4 Reveals the Fighters Table

Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, fresh DM the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of characters, and a thrilling plot featuring celestial beings, demons, and malevolent powers expanding in influence within the urban setting.

Note: Revealing details for the third episode of the new season lie ahead.

The Soldiers Table Unveiled

The third episode finished on a huge suspense moment and presented the first table of adventurers who will separate from the primary party to embark on their separate journey, distinct from the other two tables.

The combat-focused team includes Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis Willingham), Thimble (Laura), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).

Dividing the Cast

Given 13 cast members, it was clear from the start that having everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.

That’s why, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Prelude, intertwining the personal journeys before branching into three separate parties: Soldiers, Schemers, and Explorers.

What Defines the Soldiers Table

As described by the DM, the Soldiers table is for players who enjoy a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven story mode where peaceful solutions are few and far between.

Upon first impression, characters like the hesitant healer the cleric might appear unsuited, but the actions of the latest installment demonstrate why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.

Reasons to Leave

First, the team understands precisely where to head next after a violent first encounter with the antagonists.

Casimir of the deceased character—whose death initiated the campaign’s events—used The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, breaking into the secret base, attacking the rogue, and taking all the powerful objects to dispose of.

Casimir then settled his debts and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, north of the city, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.

Character Drivers

Moreover, each character has a specific drive to depart the metropolitan area:

  • Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, desires retribution.
  • The knowledgeable figure knows Timmony and advises that it is a dangerous location.
  • The warrior and The cleric, having resisted his house’s orders to execute Teor and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
  • However, their reputation as important members in the powerful family could enable the team access places they normally couldn’t.
  • Furthermore, The fighter vowed a life debt to The savior for his rescue and will now accompany him wherever.

Pursued by Authorities

Lastly, all of them are wanted by the authorities that govern the city for a multiple motives, making lingering locally dangerous:

  • Thimble and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
  • The warrior and Wicander turned against the powerful family and the army of fiends they are allied with.
  • The target is targeted for elimination by the family.

This means them no alternative but to journey toward the remote area in search of Casimir.

Future Episodes

According to the recent installment’s Cooldown, we discover that the combat party will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight cast members to assemble the Explorers and Strategists parties.

Audiences can expect discovering which adventurers will be in which group in the story’s final introductory chapter, available to watch on October 24.
